The FitWit Foundation
At FitWit, we're committed to making a tangible, positive impact in our community. That's why we donate 5% of all our profits to The FitWit Foundation, a non-profit youth foundation changing the lives of at-risk, low-income young people in the Metro Atlanta area.
Mission
The mission of The FitWit Foundation is to combat childhood obesity and education inequality, and foster personal growth in young people through fitness, tutoring, and summer camp programs.
Programs
Youth Fitness
- FitTeens
The FitTeens program is designed for implementation at schools and youth centers. The program is a six-week fitness competition similar to NBC’s “Biggest Loser.” Each week, professional fitness instructors and volunteers lead three 60-minute fitness-camp workout sessions that include fitness instruction and nutrition education. Participants’ fitness levels are assessed at the beginning and end of the program, and the FitTeens Award is awarded to the pariticapnt who improves their total fitness ability the most from Week 1 to Week 6.
- Midnight Basketball
Midnight Basketball is a program designed to give kids a safe place to play and learn during critical evening hours. The program runs on Friday evenings, 9pm – Midnight, and it consists of both a life skills workshop and playing basketball. Students must attend a 30-minute workshop in order to play basketball for the rest of the night. Workshop topics include: applying for jobs, resume writing, job interview skills, etiquette, public speaking, nutrition, conversational speaking, dressing for success, and business ownership.
